I've finally added Emily's Sephriel and Lili fanart to my Fan Art section. Sorry about that Em. I've also finally finished the Gift Art section of this site! Woohoo! The gift art section contains the art I made for other webcomic creators.

Also, since the Elfwood fantasy art gallery is back up again, I have reinstated a link to my art gallery there on my menu on top. Now the only thing that I have to fix up is the About Me and Lovaria section of this site.

Paalam!
A few more days to go till I start pumping out comics again. I have the story in my head now but I have yet to draw the actual 1st page of chapter 2. I'm currently focusing in making all of the links in my menu active first.

On a different topic, I want to start a sort of side-comic for LA. A comic that will run in parallel to it but will still be based on Lovaria. It will not be in the same format as the actual LA comic and it will just be short stories. I am still thinking of what the side-comic will be about. If you want to suggest anything, join the discussion in my forum at http://www.keenspace.com/forums/Forum323/HTML/000083.html.

While you are in the forum, you may also want to join in the discussion on Final Fantasy at http://www.keenspace.com/forums/Forum323/HTML/000074.html.

I hope that can keep you busy until Friday comes. Oh and I may put up the About me and Lovaria page before Friday. That may also be something to look forward to, ne? Paalam muna.

First and foremost, I just want to remind everybody that the comic should resume on Friday next week (3rd of August). So do not be expect a comic on Tuesday. And as you may have already noticed, there wasn't a comic yesterday.

I am now working on what Chapter 2 will be about. I'm doing this pre-planning business so that crunching out these comic pages will be smoother.

As for the comment engine thingy, I think that Brinkster (the ASP host I use) is somewhat slowing down the loading of my art pages. I may need to think of something else. Kern of Chronicles of a Drow Sorceress offered to help me out on my webhosting needs. I truly appreciate the offer but as I have told him, I'm still thinking about it.

I hope you guys can wait till Friday for the next strip. In the meantime, I may come up with some experimental very short comic works. But that will depend on my free time. I will prioritize the planning for Chapter 2 though.

That's all for now. Paalam!

Ok. I did some new things with the site. I modified the Lovarian Art Section so that the thumbnail images point to pages were you can also drop in your comments on the Comment Engine I developed in ASP.

I'll be doing the same thing with the Fanart section in the following days and finally update it to include a piece of art that Emily of There Be Elves made for me. Sorry Em. I should have done this a earlier. It should be up very soon.

This cool multimedia website has come to my attention recently. It's hard to describe so you'll just have to see it for yourself: Legendary: An Anime-Inspired Multimedia Story by Megan Crewe!

Lastly, I want to thank all the people who posted in my guestbook! Thanks for all the nice compliments! It gives me more energy to pursue this project. Paalam!

I finally got my prototype ASP-driven comment engine working. The code itself resides on my Brinkster account. To test out my new comment engine, jump on over to this link and put in your comments.

Alrighty! It's out! The final page for Chapter 1 is out! Wheeeeee!

I guess I should tell you guys in advance that I may not have a strip for Friday and the coming Tuesday. I'm currently working on finishing this site first. I'll most likely put out one or two side comics related to LA in that time. I'll use this time to do some experimental comic work. So you see, there is still reason for you guys to stick around while I ready Chapter 2.

And that's another reason why I need a bit of time off. I need time to prepare Chapter 2 and not go at it like what I did with Chapter 1. Sure, I have the basic plot for Chapter 1 in my head but I didn't flesh it out enough and everytime I have to draw a page, I have to make lots of decisions because of the lack of planning. Also, I haven't really decided yet how Chapter 2 will start.

That's all from me for now folks. I'll be off to sleep. Paalam!

Hehehe. Okay I know. There should have been a new comic page up by now. You'll just have to come back a little bit later. I'm still working on it. I was pre-occupied yesterday in trying to make that YABB bulleting board code to work on my Tripod and Prohosting account to no avail. So there went my free time yesterday.

I'm also working on ASP code that will give commenting capabilities to my art and fan-art galleries. I already have a prototype working but I still need to modify some minor details and iron out some bugs before I use it live. And whenever I decide to use the ASP program, it'll take me a while to create the pages to accomodate it for each piece of art I have. Sigh. Lots of things to do, so little time.

Just come back later or maybe even tomorrow for the next page, okay? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here are some of the changes I have made since my last post: The costume in there is the same costume of an old RPG character I played back in college. I've also changed the coloring technique I used on the Nadine and Lili swimsuit images. Click here to see.

I'm also currently developing an ASP-driven web program that will provide my art gallery the same commenting capabilities that the late-Elfwood fantasy art gallery provides. I'm currently still prototyping it. I'll be integrating it on my site when it's done. I'm looking at a Friday self-imposed deadline. When I get this working properly, I can probably share the ASP code with some of my webcomic/artist friends.

I'm also working on getting a new message board/forum. I want to customize the current board I have but sadly, updates take a while specially if the one updating it (not me) is very busy. Well, I'm currently looking at EzBoard to provide me with the message board. Click here to see what I've currently done. It's actually ready to go but I am annoyed by the ads EzBoard uses.

I can probably just download the YABB message board codes in PERL (which are incidentally free) but I don't want to mess around with that as much as possible. I'm not a PERL programmer for one. And also, I don't have a host that is PERL enabled that can host this messageboard. So I guess EzBoard is the way to go for me in the meantime. Either that or I stick with the Keenspace provided Message Board/Forum I currenlty use. What say you? To comment on this topic, click here.

Well, that's all I have for now. I'm off to sleep now. Paalam.

New page is up! The team that'll be the stars of this webcomic are finally shown together in one page.

I finally have my swimsuit section up and running in conjunction with the BabeWatch Fantasy Lair project. Go check it out.

Lastly, I have just updated my links page. Here are the new additions. Go check them out! They are all cool (as far as I can remember)!

Whew. I'm done for tonight. Over and out. Paalam muna.

Alrighty. I have finally ironed out some bugs with the new layout specially when it is used on a non-MSIE browser.

I've also been nominated to the 4th Philippine Web Awards! Actually, I've been nominated earlier but I wasn't able to accept it right off because if I did, according to the terms and conditions, I shouldn't make any major changes on my site. Now that I've finished the overhaul on the look of the site, I accepted it.

Now, I'll have to draw Friday's comic strip. That's all for now. Paalam.

Thursday, July 19, 2001

Well, you may notice that I've changed the color scheme a bit so that it won't be too brown.
Okay. All of the pages have been modified to conform to the new web design. However, I still haven't modified the actual contents for those pages. So I still need to update the links section and the fanart section most especially.

I have also added comments in the new comments box beside each page. Since I'm strapped for time, I was only able to add in comments from Page 17 onwards. So now you have a new reason to go thru the archives from that page back to the present. I'll inform you guys when I've finished adding the comments on the rest of the pages.

Incidentally, for those people who are wondering what Paalam means, it is Tagalog (or Filipino - the Philippine national language) for Farewell.

Over and out. Paalam.
Yeah! By the time you read this, the layout for the index page and the archive pages should have changed already. I'll deal with the remaining pages later. Please alert me thru the forum or thru my guest book if you encounter any problems with the new layout. And I mean technical problems, okay?
Woohooo! Eunice of Ghosts Hunters has given me a guest strip! Very nice! In lieu of this, I'll be posting the Friday strip a bit late so as to give more "air-time" for the guest strip.

On the Babewatch front, I have finished the Lili in 2-piece suit image. And for those who didn't read my earlier post, you can look at Nadine in a 1-piece suit by clicking the link.

I am also working on changing the layout design for the whole site. You may notice that the color scheme for the guest book has changed already. This is the color scheme of the new design. You'll also notice that the image of myself is now colorized to brown. I hope to change the layout for the whole site by the weekend. So, you may expect that suddenly the site looks different. Some of the pages won't be changed right off. The change will be gradual.

Signing off. Paalam.

Tuesday, July 17, 2001

Oh dear. It seems that there won't be a strip for today.

I have been thinking about this for a while now. I have lots of things to do still but little free time to do it. I may need to change the current schedule from twice a week (on Tuesdays and Fridays) to once a week. I will use the extra free time to plan ahead on the comic. After that, I'll be going back to the twice a week schedule. I haven't decided when to go once a week yet so it will still be twice a week for now. And yeah, I know, I missed today's strip.

On to other news, I have finally finished at least one artwork for the Babewatch Fantasy Lair project. It's a picture of Nadine in a one piece swimsuit! I haven't set up the swimsuit page on my site so if you want to see it, you'll have to click here. I have a pic of Lili in a two-piece suit in the works too. No color yet but I may finish it by tomorrow.

I am also working on a new layout design for the whole website. It will have a brown or blue motif. Haven't decided yet which. So don't be surprised when you suddenly check in here and no longer see black as the background color. I'm hoping the new design will be faster to load and prettier.

That's it for now. Paalam!
First off, I want to greet my fiancee a Happy Happy Birthday! Too bad we are not together. I miss you so. I love you.

Ahem. Moving on...

I guess I'll just have to post here a bit more often than I should. The idea I had with going with this Blogger thingy is so that I can keep you guys abreast with what is happening with my life that is affecting the webcomic or is related to it. So let me do that now.

I have not yet done a comic strip for Tuesday. I am currently busy filling out my RPL application. The RPL application is like a thesis that non-computer science graduates who are in the IT industry (like myself) need to accomplish so that I can get the ACS (Australian Computer Society) assessment needed to get a Permanent Residency Visa here in Australia. So what that means is that I want to stay here in Australia and I need to accomplish the stupid RPL just to do that. It's basically a thesis proving to the ACS that I have an equivalent Computer Science degree because of my self-studies and experience.

On a lighter note, Eunice of Ghosts Hunters is working on a guest strip for me. If she is able to finish it by tonight, I can have it up on my site in no time. She said she is already on the inking stage already anyway. And she claims she draws up comics fast... except when her mother is around.

I have also been working on some sketches for my contribution to our Fantasy Lair group's Babewatch Swimsuit thingy project. It will have Nadine and Lili in skimpy attire. You don't see that often in the comic as most of the people in the comic is fairly well covered with clothing most of the time. I'll need to ink it and I may be able to finish at least 2 drawings today. So if Eunice isn't able to give the guest strip by Wednesday, I can at least have something to put up on my site.

That's all for now. Until I think of something else to post later. Paalam.

Sunday, July 15, 2001

Okay. From this day forth, I am going to use the Blogger to generate this posted news update you are reading now. I find that it is very convenient to use. So if you have your own site that has this news update thingy too and you want to make it easier on yourself, go on to Blogger.

Enough Blogger plugging. I have recently finished a guest strip for Eunice of Ghosts Hunters webcomic. So go check it out. I have also received the first Sephriel (with Lili) fanart from Emily of There Be Elves webcomic! Thanks Em! I haven't put it in my fanart section yet though. So to take a look, click here.

Well, that's all for now. Paalam.
