If you are here for the new page, please just come back tomorrow. Today (Dec 30) is my birthday and I did a bit of celebrating so I wasn't able to do the page for today. And yes, that means that I haven't done any buffer pages over the Christmas vacation. Sorry.

So just check again tomorrow (or depending on the time zone, a few hours from now). It should be up by then.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Lovarian Adventures's first donator: David Eaton! Thanks man! You have given me a very nice (and practical) Chirstmas gift. ^_______^

Yes I have changed the dialog in the last panels of Episode 46. When I was writing the dialog for this particular page, I was already very sleepy and tired. I know how it should go but my mind wasn't working at the time. But finally I'm able to word it in a way I'm satisfied.

Earlier, I was also typing up a very long blog. But guess what? I lost it again! That's twice this kinda thing happened to me. So now I'm doing it the safe way. I'm writing this blog in notepad first then save it on my harddisk then copy and paste it over at Blogger to be sure.

Anyway, if you do not know yet, I'm currently alone in Australia celebrating Christmas away from my family and friends. Christmas season is a very big thing in my home country, the Philippines. I'm don't feel very lonely though but when walking around and I pass by a house with Christmas decor, I am sometimes hit by nostalgia.

And on these walks, it got me thinking a bit. Why am I doing this webcomic? It's not like I'm getting paid to do it yet I'm putting in all this effort into it and sleeping late just to finish it in time for my mythical deadline.

There were a few times in the past (ie. a long long time ago) when I actually felt like ending the comic abruptly but then I get an email, a forum post or a guestbook post from somebody saying how they like the comic and so forth... That quickly erased any ideas of quitting from my mind. So you readers have those people to thank on why I'm still doing this comic today. ^_^;;;

Anyway don't worry. I'm still doing the comic, do I not? I'll probably still do this for a while. I'm still enjoying myself.

However, I'm looking at getting something published. Something that will earn me some extra cash. So I'm glad that my brother is getting together with some artists in the Philippines and is planning to release a new comic magazine. I won't draw though as my brother tapped me to be the writer of his comic. It will be a Lovarian comic. If all goes well then I'm looking at a few bucks for each release. A few bucks is better than no bucks at least.

I'm also looking into getting a gig to illustrate for local magazines. I dunno if I'll be successful in that venture though. I'm still scouting for magazines that may be interested in my particular art style.

That's all I have for now I guess. Merry Christmas everybody! ^_^

Merry Christmas!

Okay. It is quite late even for those of you who are in the US. My brother has complained about me not following the Sunday sched in actuallity. Please don't make a big issue of the schedule. Here I am not getting paid to do this comic and trying my best to stay awake at 5 am in the morning just so I can finish this page for you guys. So all I ask is a little understanding ok (but if you can donate some change, I'd like that too)? I'm sure the regular readers who aren't in the US know by now to just visit the site on a Monday anyway.

Here my plans for the site in the meantime. I still have to do the Title/Cover pages for Chapters 2 and 3. Might go and redo the Chapter 1 title page as well to make it look more like a Cover page of a comic issue. But that has low priority right now. And of course there is the mythical buffer pages. I'm planning on doing the pages in advance during the Christmas break. Planning is much different than actually doing unfortunately.

If there is anything you need or wanted to know, just post it in the forum and I'll try to answer it as best as I could. Okidokies? That's all for now. Later. Me going to bed now. =_=

Hiya folks! As I've said before, I'll be doing title pages for each new chapter but wasn't able to do so yesterday. Anyway, I'm done with the title page for chapter one.

You can also just go to the first ever page and see how it looks like from there: http://lovarianadventures.keenspace.com/d/20010419.html. I'll work on the title pages for Chapter 2 and 3 next. Enjoy. :D

Hello everybody. K_Kuros posted in the forum that he was a bit confused about the transition into the new chapter. It was partly my fault because I drew Desideratus just like how I draw Helix. Anyway, I suggested that maybe a break in chapters would help. Or at least a clear indication that a new chapter has just started. I don't know if this will help at all but anyway, here is the idea I came up with in the meantime:

I place header images on the first page of each chapter indicating the Chapter number and Chapter title. To see what I mean, go to these pages:

Chapter 1: http://lovarianadventures.keenspace.com/d/20010419.html
Chapter 2: http://lovarianadventures.keenspace.com/d/20010803.html
Chapter 3: http://lovarianadventures.keenspace.com/d/20011209.html

I am planning on doing full page arts to identify the start of a chapter but it will take me a bit of time to do those so I hope these will have to do in the meantime. :)

GAAAAHHHHH!

Okay. I wrote a very long blog earlier. Guess what? It didn't save. And all the while I thought it did. Arrrgghhh!

Let me do this again. Sigh:

I may start using the comments box beside the comic to explain the current comic for the benefit of those who hadn't kept track of the story (or for those with short memory).

Also, I can't believe the effort you have to put into coloring each page! I can't believe that my friend Kern, maker of Chronicles of a Drow Sorceress webcomic is able to do full color comic pages thrice a week!

Anyway, I'm also planning on starting a mailing list that will announce when a new page is up. It will also inform list members of any new notices. The blogs I put here will also be there. :) What do you guys think?

That's all for now. I hope this time this blog gets saved. *Groan*

Wow!!! My many thanks to my beloved readers! As of now, the rating I have on the Little Dragon Online Fantasy Comics Directory is at 9.44 with 63 votes! Thanks you everybody. Really really appreciate it and you certainly made my day!

Monday, December 10, 2001

Hi People. Before I say anything else I all just want you to know of something that really really ruined my day just this Friday. I usually go to the Little Dragon Online Fantasy Comics Directory to look at my rating there. The last time (before Friday) I looked, I had 18 votes and a rating of 9.20+. I'm not sure of the exact value. Anyway, on Friday when I checked again, it was down to 8.95 with 19 votes. I was just surprised with the sudden drop so I reverse calculate it so I can get the rating the last person gave my site to arrive at an average of 8.95.

Guess what? It was a 1! A one!? What is this? Do I have an enemy out there who would give me a 1 rating just so it can drag down my rating? Somebody actually stooped low to give me a 1 rating just to spite me. Fine. I hope you are happy, whoever you are. Sheesh.

Anyway, now that's off my chest... Welcome to chapter 3 of Lovarian Adentures. Yep it's still in full-color. And boy I'm sleepy. I hope you guys enjoy this page. I'm off to bed. Work tomorrow.

Glorious news everybody! I'm so very very very happy! I'm finally done with that exam I keep talking about! WOohooooooO! Now I can concentrate on more fun stuff like this comic. Yay!

BTW, for those of you who do not know, Eunice P's Ghost Hunters webcomic is back from a very long hiatus! Yay! Go check it out quick!
Okay. I was playing around earlier today with how to do a part of the beginning of chapter 3. So I came up with this image that can also serve as a sort of teaser for the next chapter. The image shows Count Desideratus when he was younger (and still wasn't the Count of Quellara). For those of you who weren't following, Desideratus is Lili's father. You can see the old him at this URL: http://lovarianadventures.keenspace.com/d/20010703.html.

Anyway, to look at the image I mentioned, click on the thumbnail image on the left. That's it for now. Later peeps!

Howdy people. Whew. Yeah the new page is somewhat late (again). But this time, I sorta have a good reason for it. I didn't realize it will take a while to color a whole page. My PC was barely able to handle it. I think it is time to buy more RAM.

Anyway, I was previously planning on having the start of getting the comics colored in chapter 3 but I wanted to give it a go before that. Just in case I think it is too bothersome, then I can just not have chapter 3 colored. But I feel I can handle it. However, I don't think I can go 2x/week just yet if I'm going to have the comics colored. I may need to get my bearings with it first.

Also, I have recently purchased a tablet. It helped a bit in speeding up the coloring of the page but I still need to get used to it. After using it for an extended period of time last night, my hand and fingers began to ache. The same ache I get from writing long prose. I think I'm pressing the pen heavily too much. Might break it. Gotta take it easy.

Up Next

  • I'm planning on having the future pages of the comics in color. I just don't know if I can handle it but I'll at least try to have the whole of chapter 3 in color.

  • Chapter 3 begiins next week but this time the focus is not on Helix and the guys. You will also get a glimpse of Vecharon, the late evil sorcerer who is Lili's own grandfather. More of Sarren, too, for you Sarren-loving folk.

  • I'll begin to make design changes to the site as well. I know some of you like the peanut-buttery color scheme I have going now but I feel it is time for a make-over. I'm hoping the new design will be more colorful but not too much.

I think that's all I have for now. See ya.
